| The MIDTOWN CHURCH
OF CHRIST, like the churches of the Christ in the
Bible 33 AD assembles every "first day of the week" (Acts
20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2) SUNDAY for the following purpose:
WORSHIPING the Father as one congregation
in SPIRIT & TRUTH (John 4:23, 24) & not
according to doctrines, creeds, opinions or commandments
of men. (Matthew 15:9, Mark 7:7).
REMEMBERING Christ's sufferings & death
by observing "The Lord's Supper" (1 Corinthians 11:20;"The
Breaking of Break" (Acts 2:46;20:7; 1 Corinthians 10:16);"the
Communion of the body and blood of Christ"(1 Corinthians
10:16; 11:23-29) or the eating of the unleavened bread &
the drinking of the fruit of the vine, as commanded by Christ
(Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:14-23).
STUDYING & TEACHING God's Word, the HOLY
BIBLE (Acts 2:42; 17:11, 2 Peter 3:18, Matthew
28:18-20, Ephesians 3:10).
Speaking with the father through PRAYERS
(Acts 2:42; 4:24-31; 12:5,12, 1 Thessalonians 17-18).
SINGING as one congregation solemn &
reverent spiritual songs, praises & melodies with the fruit
of our lips from our hearts to the Lord without mechanical
musical instruments (Acts 2:42, Ephesians 5:19; Colossians
3:16, Hebrews 13:15).
Experiencing the JOY OF GIVING in ministering
to the saints (2 Corinthians 8:1-5) & contributing financially
for Christian service (1 Corinthians 16:1-2) for God's glory
& praise.
Doing worship IN ORDER & DECENTLY (1
Corinthians 14:40). With NO babbling, sporadic
spasms, charismatic yelling, repetitive
prayers, live erratic bands, hypnotic trance or mass hysteria
(1 Corinthians 13:8-10). Revering the presence of our Almighty
Father.
